Letter from Alec Gores and Vance Diggins to Gores Technology Group Employees Concerning Tragic Events in New York City, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001
September 12, 2001
To members of the GTG family:

The horrific events of the past week defy description. To say that none of our lives will ever be the same is to state the obvious. What isn't obvious is precisely how we've been changed-and to what extent. Clearly, it will be some time before we know the answers to these questions.

In the interim, on behalf of GTG management, I want to express our profound shock and sorrow in the wake of the appalling events we've all witnessed and experienced. As a company, we are the sum total of the individuals who contribute to our business, whether as employees, investors, customers, or vendors. To everyone who has been touched personally by this tragedy, we extend our heartfelt condolences, prayers, and support in their time of grief and loss.

At the same time, I want to make clear our determination not to be hobbled by this tragedy. Both as individuals and as a corporation, we are resolved to prevail in the face of this challenge to our way of life. America is the greatest country on earth. Our people and our companies are the best in the world. To allow ourselves to be cowered by these barbaric acts is to grant the terrorists the victory they desire. This we cannot-and will not-permit.
